God loves to see His fruit in all of us and this book will help young ones understand how it grows! Recommended for all ages 2 to 6.

Curriculum Overview
Music & Movement:
Play "Bean Bag Boogie" from "Kids in Motion" cd by Greg & Steve. Give
children bean bags and tell them to pretend the bags are apples.  Let
children walk around trying to balance one, two, three, or more on top of
their heads.

Snack:
10 Apple Wedges
Morning Circle:
Review the "A" letter bag and the sounds "A" can make.  Ask the
children to look around the room for other things that begin with the "A"
sound.  Show the children a red apple.  Ask the children what color
their favorite apples are.  Ask the children to point out red things they
see in the circle area.
Practice counting to 10 using
this
counting rhyme:  

10 apples way up high.
I shook the tree and watched them fly.  
I grabbed them all and piled them tall,
then took them home and made a pie!
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10...YUM, YUM!!!!!"

Red Food Coloring Blots
Take a large sheet of butcher paper and spread it out on a
long table.  (Or print up the Apple Template Above)Make
sure the children's clothing is protected.  Let them drop the
red food dye from medicine droppers onto the paper.  
Discuss shapes and patterns that form.
Paper Plate Apples.
Give each child a small white paper plate.  Let them color one side red.  
Provide green paper "leaves" and a brown paper "stem," and let the
children glue or tape them to the top.  Fold a long skinny piece of brown or
green paper accordian-style, and glue onto red side of the "apple" for the
worm.  Let the children glue small black beans onto the white side of the
plate for apple seeds.  Hang from the ceiling when dry.
Craft
Optional Craft/Math Activity:    10 Apples Up on Top
This is a fun way for children to work on early counting skills while also creating
a portrait of themselves.  First, after you read the book,
"Ten Apples Up on
Top" by Dr. Seuess you can have your children make their own face on a paper
plate.  Then let them write the numbers 1-10 on pre-cut apple shapes, and help
them staple them in order so that they re all up on top of their heads.

and they can color a picture of them in the garden
of Eden.

If you have older children in your class or home,
then print up this optional page for working on
handwriting skills.  This page has a picture of
Jesus carrying his cross, and the Bible Verse
from Romans 5:8.  
Family Tree Bulletin Board
Learning about Adam & Eve and Apples goes
hand in hand with learning about our Family Trees!
For some extra fun, create a tree from butcher
paper for a bulletin board.  Have children color the
apples and draw a picture of themselves (or their
families) in the circle.  Cut out the apples and put
them up on the bulletin board.  You could title the
board "I'm part of God's Family", or "I am a Child of
God" or something similar.
